Brandon Chrostowski realized during his first year in operating Edwins Leadership and Restaurant Institute a significant barrier for his formerly incarcerated students’ successful re-entry into the community — finding safe housing.

So he’s planning to create a $1.3 million dormitory and campus in the Buckeye neighborhood close to the restaurant’s Shaker Square location.

To help facilitate its development, Edwins is hosting a six-course dinner and wine pairing at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, which features acclaimed chefs from around the United States.

Local talent includes Doug Katz (Fire Food and Drink, Provenance); Dante Boccuzzi (Dante, Ginko, Next Door, D.C. Pasta Co.); Steve Schimoler (Crop Bistro and Bar, Crop Kitchen), Chris Hodgson (The Driftwood Group); and Mike Mitchell of Mitchell’s Ice Cream. Rounding out the roster are Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster in Chicago; David LeFevre of M.B. Post in Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and David Waltuck of Elan in New York City.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $250 per person ($125 tax deductible) for lounge and bar seating, and $350 per person ($225 tax deductible) for dining room seating.
